Job Title: Workplace Experience Manager
Location: Remote, work from home in US or UK only

What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a Workplace Experience Manager to lead projects and events that foster community, connectedness, and happiness within our organization. As a prominent figure in our company, you will help shape our company culture by championing our values and designing mechanisms that facilitate strong relationships across the entire organization. Since our team members are spread across the UK and US, you will be experienced in creating a strong sense of fun, trust, unity and belonging in remote and asynchronous teams.

We are a diverse team and we strongly encourage applications from people in marginalized groups. This is a remote position open to candidates who are based in the US or UK and can demonstrate eligibility to work in those countries.

What is expected of me?

  • Plan and execute fun non-work virtual company events, such as regular happy hours, gaming sessions, talent shows, and karaoke to help build team camaraderie.
  • Plan and coordinate annual in-person team meetups, including scheduling activities and booking venues, flights, hotels, etc.
  • Inspire relationship building between team members through coworking calls and coffee chats.
  • Promote employee growth by featuring internal and external speakers, and coordinating conference and course attendance.
  • Monitor the health of our organization through team satisfaction surveys, and work with leadership to continuously improve overall happiness.
  • Source, purchase and ship company merch and other physical goods to our team members
  • Write about Life at Uplift on our external facing blog, internal company wiki, and newsletter, highlighting individuals and their achievements.
  • Shape our company culture by championing our mission and values. Be a positive force that uplifts others.

What traits should I have?

We divide applicant traits into 2 categories: "Should Have" and "Nice to Have".

"Should Have" traits are things a candidate really should have, but you can make up for it in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.

"Nice to Have" traits are ‘bonus’ traits that can improve your candidacy, but none of these are necessary to apply.

Workplace Experience Manager - “Should Have” Traits

  • 3+ years experience planning and executing events
  • Outstanding written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, effectively organizing, prioritizing, and following up to ensure timely completion.
  • Self starter who can independently execute with minimal direction.
  • Confidence presenting to large groups and facilitating discussions.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and your project management tool of choice (we use Asana and Notion).
  • Passion for games and an understanding of game development culture.

Workplace Experience Manager - “Nice to Have” Traits

  • Professional experience in games or technology companies.
  • Experience in a young games studio that rapidly scaled up.
  • Understanding of the Roblox community.

What’s the Compensation?

For this role, the salary will be competitive and negotiable based on your experience and location. Our aim is to be competitive with industry and regional standards.

For employees in the UK and US, we have a competitive benefits package. Find out more on our Why Work Here page.

I’m ready to apply.

A few reminders: you must be over 18 to apply. Though this is a remote role, you must reside in and have permission to work in either the US or UK to apply. Though we aim to respond to all applicants (including unsuccessful ones), you may not receive a reply if you don’t meet these criteria.

We’re really looking forward to reading your application. Apply for this job on Homerun below!
