Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Remote, work from home in the US or UK only
Position Type: Part-time (20 hours)

What’s the Job?

Uplift Games is the studio behind Adopt Me, the #1 game on the Roblox platform (25+ billion visits, 1.92 million record CCU) all about adopting cute pets. We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us to find and recruit the best talent.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the recruitment process, from scoping roles and sourcing candidates through to making offers.  You will use your significant experience of recruiting within the video games industry in order to advise on best practice, as well as developing new and exciting recruitment strategies.  This is a new role, so you will have a real opportunity to shape how we recruit.  We envisage that this part-time position will require up to 24 hours per week.

You will be an ambassador for our company, so it’s essential that you are passionate about our game and our community.

It is essential that you value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalized groups. We are explicitly a trans, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC / BAME, and disability-positive team, and you will be an active supporter of all team members.

This is a remote position open to candidates who are based in the US or UK and can demonstrate eligibility to work in those countries.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee all aspects of the recruitment process from scoping roles, sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, arranging interviews and managing feedback through to making offers and coordinating onboarding.
  • Guide candidates through the recruitment process, ensuring an excellent experience.
  • Advise on our recruitment strategy and current recruitment best practice
  • Create talent pipelines using a wide variety of sources including Linkedin Recruiter and job boards.
  • Write job specifications and appealing recruitment adverts.
  • Promote and manage the employee referral scheme.
  • Work with our marketing and communications department to ensure an attractive and consistent brand for our recruitment activities.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies including negotiating terms and evaluating performance.

Your Background

These are the things candidates really should have but can make up for in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.

  • A proven track record in recruitment within the video game industry - preferably at least 4+ years experience.
  • A good understanding of recruitment best practices, coupled with a desire to continually improve.
  • Experience in attracting candidates from marginalized groups.
  • A champion for employee and candidate experience.
  • Ability to review applications at all levels and across all disciplines, including technical, creative and support.
  • Extremely organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Customer service driven, and able to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • A confident communicator both verbally and in writing, able to influence and challenge as required.
  • Proactive, positive mindset, always on the lookout for new ways to do things.
  • Experience in using applicant tracking systems - we use Homerun.

Bonus Points

These are things that can improve your candidacy, but none of these are necessary to apply.

  • Experience hiring employees for games with young audiences.
  • Experience working with small teams - startups, or rapidly scaling divisions within larger companies.
  • Able to deliver training such as interview skills.
  • Experience hiring in the US and UK, and a good understanding of work culture and the recruitment markets in both countries.
