Job Title: QA Manager
Location: Remote, work from home in the US or UK only
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours)

What’s the Job?

We’re looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead our QA team. As a senior QA professional and a manager, you will create our QA process and roadmap, along with line-manage and mentor your team. An open and effective communicator, you will coordinate with other managers and leadership to build quality into our development process and ensure that our people can do their best ever work while living happy, healthy lives.

It is essential that you value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalized groups. We are explicitly a trans, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC / BAME, and disability-positive team, and you will be an active supporter of all team members.

This is a remote position open to candidates who are based in the US or UK and can demonstrate eligibility to work in those countries.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and own our QA process, integrating multiple testing methodologies to improve test coverage and timely delivery. Steer our QA team roadmap and vision.
  • Line-manage, mentor, and motivate a team of QA professionals. Guide their day-to-day work and ensure everyone is growing.
  • Get hands-on, personally filling gaps in testing and solving day-to-day problems while you formalize our QA team and fill vacancies.
  • Champion a high quality bar across all teams. Hold teams accountable for high standards.
  • Promote collaborative relationships between QA and developers.
  • Build strong personal relationships with other department leads.
  • Identify and recruit talented QA professionals.
  • Manage external QA partnerships, including with 3rd party vendors and our volunteer QA force.

Your Background

These are the things candidates really should have but can make up for in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.

  • 8+ years of QA experience.
  • 2+ years managing QA professionals.
  • Deep knowledge in QA, including experience with a wide range of QA tools, conventions, and methodologies. You are aware of past, present, and emerging trends in QA.
  • Knowledge of product development pipelines and lifecycles, and the ability to integrate in QA.
  • Experience with multiplatform GaaS QA.
  • Excellent communication. You are not only a great presenter but also an empathetic listener.
  • You are self-directed and able to manage both your own workload and that of your team in a remote environment.
  • You’re excited at the prospect of leading and shaping a team and being part of our studio at this exciting stage of our evolution.
  • You value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalised groups. We are explicitly a trans, LGBTQ+, BIPOC / BAME and disability positive team.

Bonus Points

These are things that can improve your candidacy, but none of these are necessary to apply.

  • Experience in AAA game development.
  • Experience in a young studio that rapidly scaled up.
  • Experience with Roblox tools and community.

What’s the Compensation?

When possible, we provide transparent estimated salary ranges to set expectations early and to respect your time.
