Job Title: Product Development Senior Manager
Location: Remote, work from home in the UK only
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours)

What’s the Job?

Uplift Games is the studio behind Adopt Me, the #1 game on the Roblox platform (25+ billion visits, 1.92 million record CCU) all about adopting cute pets. We’re looking for an experienced Product Development professional to join our new Consumer Products team, overseeing the creative execution of our licensing products for Adopt Me and Uplift Games globally.  You will work closely with the Head of Consumer Products and our key partners across all categories.  You will manage approval processes internally and ensure our licensees and agents are delivering the highest quality products to market in a timely manner.  You will manage the pipeline of creative assets through creation of style guides/updates/trend guides with external agencies and ensure cohesive looks for our products.  This role is pivotal in the development of our fans’ connection with the game they love.

This is the first product development position at Uplift Games and therefore is broad in its remit and will involve helping to set and implement processes.  For the right candidate this is a unique opportunity to be part of shaping a global consumer products range and the role offers scope for future personal and career development as the consumer products program and team builds.

It is essential that you value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalized groups. We are explicitly a trans, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC / BAME, and disability-positive team, and you will be an active supporter of all team members.

This is a remote position open to candidates who are based in the UK and can demonstrate eligibility to work in their country.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive Global Product Development across hardlines, softlines and publishing with current consumer and retail trends.
  • Work with licensees to ensure that products are of the highest standards and on trend.
  • Work with appointed agents in key markets to ensure their approvals follow global guidelines.
  • Develop and manage the approval process across all stages, from ideas through to first concepts, pre-production samples and to production.
  • Consider health and safety, environmental standards, quality assurance and regional, cultural & socio-economic factors that may relate to Product Development.
  • Be responsible for range reviews with all necessary stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Responsible for commissioning style guides and global look of our products ensuring we have consistent branding throughout different markets and regions.
  • Align with the game development team to ensure products are reflective of updates and they are brought into relevant creative conversations.
  • Inspire new and existing partners through ideation and brainstorming in order to drive new product development.
  • Identify new product opportunities, producing pitch designs to deliver to prospective and existing partners.

Your Background

These are the things candidates really should have but can make up for in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.

  • 4+ years licensing industry experience.
  • Experience across multiple categories preferably in hardlines and softlines.
  • Can-do attitude and a self starter who can problem solve on the job.
  • Understanding of health and safety, environmental standards and quality assurance.
  • Understanding of materials, processes and applications across apparel and hard goods.
  • Understanding of global licensing trends.
  • Experience in managing approval workflows and asset creation.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and cooperative spirit, giving and receiving help when necessary.
  • Highly detailed and organised with a proactive work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel to meet potential partners as needed (pending safety and covid requirements), attend trade shows and events.
  • Flexible and adaptive approach to partners and internal stakeholders who may be based in different regions/time zones.

Bonus Points

These are things that can improve your candidacy, but none of these are necessary to apply.

  • Experience working with global toy partners
  • Experience working with international agents
  • Understanding of the gaming industry
  • Design capabilities for creation of mood boards
